Hazel Nunn Hopkins

Hazel Irene Nunn Hopkins, 80, of 3625 Morgan Ford Road, Ridgeway, died Friday, August 17, 2012 at her residence. She was born in Henry County on May 31, 1932 to the late Joseph Edward Nunn and Annie Lynch Nunn. She was a proud Minister’s wife of the late Rev. Richard “Milton” Hopkins. She attended Friendly Church of the Living God.

In addition to her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by her step-mother, Annie Gravely, five sisters, Virgie Woodfin, Beulah Cooper, Gertrude Gravely, Emma Brock and Mildred Stone and four brothers, Melvin, Clarence, Paul, James Nunn and a daughter-in-law, Mary Hopkins.

Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Doyle Morgan of Ridgeway, two sons and daughter-in-law, Roy Lee Hopkins and Danny and wife Carolyn Hopkins all of Thomasville, NC, two brothers, Ernest J. Nunn of Ninety Six, South Carolina and Harvey C. Nunn of Martinsville, one step-brother, Andrew Gravely, one special sister-in-law, Mamie Nunn of Martinsville, seven grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 21, 2012 in the chapel of Community Funeral Service with Kelly Ratcliff officiating, interment will follow in the Former Friendly Church of the Living God presently South Side Baptist Church in Ridgeway. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday, August 20, 2012 in the chapel of Community Funeral Services and other time at the home.
