Howard Troy McCandless Jr.

Howard Troy McCandless Jr., 75, of 5554 Turner Smith Road, McLeansville, NC, died Saturday November 3, 2012 at his residence. He was born in Guildford County, NC, on November 22, 1936 to the late Howard Troy McCandless and Anne Pearl Davis McCandless. He was owner and operator for twenty five years of McCandless Short-Crete of McLeansville, NC building and installing swimming pools. Howard attended Johnson Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters, Ruth McCandless, Evelyn Flores and Shirley Rowland.

Surviving are his wife, Peggy Brown McCandless of the home, three daughters and sons-in law, Brenda and Thomas Oakley of Burlington, NC, Annette and Clarence Linsford of McLeansville, NC, and Kathy and Russell Lineberry of Gibsonville, NC, three sons and a daughter-in-law, Robert “Bobby” Wayne McCandless, and Kenneth “Kenny” and Michelle McCandless both of McLeansville, NC and Michael “Mike” McCandless of Brown Summit, NC, one sister and Brother-in-law, Linda and Rex Oliver of Michigan, two brothers, Ronald McCandless of Eden, NC and Richard McCandless of Myrtle Beach, SC, ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 12 noon Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at Johnson Baptist Church in McLeansville, NC with Pastor Larry Andrews officiating, interment will be in Westminster Gardens in Greensboro, NC. Pallbearer were Ryan Lunsford, Matthew Lunsford, Kevin Oakley, Troy McCandless, Jeremy McCandless, Russell Lineberry, Michael Lineberry and Bobby Lineberry.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church and other times at the home.
