

Raymond Lee Gilley, 77, of Collinsville died Monday, October 29, 2012 at Select Specialty Hospital of Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, NC. He was born in Patrick County on September 22, 1935 to the late Claude Swanson Gilley, Sr., and Ada Belle Hopkins Gilley. Raymond served in the United States Army and was retired after working most of his life and being an association member where he received several service awards as a sheet metal specialist with Sheet Metal Local 100 of Washington, DC.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sons, Clarence David and Patrick Eugene Gilley, two sisters, Louise Hopkins and Pauline Spangler and three brothers, Willie D, Millard and Ernest Gilley.
Surviving are his wife of twenty four years, Eldean O. Gilley of the home, two daughters, Carolyn Wiggins of Fayetteville, NC and Teresa Jennings of Knoxville, TN, one son, Steve Fisher of Collinsville, two sisters, Frances Belton of Martinsville and Mildred Young of Patrick Springs, two brothers, Claude Swanson Gilley, Jr., of Bassett and Delmar Thomas Gilley of Martinsville, six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 1:00p.m. Thursday, November 1, 2012 in the chapel of Community Funeral Service of Ridgeway with Rev. Sammy Caldwell officiating, interment will follow in the Roselawn Abby will full military honors provided by the Martinsville-Henry County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services beginning at 12:00noon.
