Al and Jeannie were the image of a love story. We knew them through our church, and our children saw them as an example of a loving, committed couple who had a heart for all of the kids in our church. Jeannie, you have my deepest condolences.  He was so blessed to have a life together with you.

I'm the only one Grampa Johnny didn't nickname since he died around  the time I was born.  Since Kenny was nick-named Big Boundie Uncle Al dubbed me Little Boundie.  His enjoyment of life like a big kid always impressed me especially when we had the Easter Egg Hunt with Sammy the dog leading the way.  His love for racing led to the purchase of that 69' Dodge Super Bee with the Semi-Racing cam that came in a lime green color. That car really impressed me.  When he lived in Atlanta he took us in an old car I think was a Model A that had rumble seat and we flew around Atlanta at great speed something Al enjoyed.  When Holly and I were young we always looked forward to the suitcase full of candy when he came back from his sales travels.  In later years after he remarried I was fortunate to meet Jeannie and her family when I went out to California for a few years.  At that time he was still working in his 80's but retired before I returned east.  Al and I had the chance to sing together in the church choir something he always enjoyed as far back as I remember. It was at this time he told me about the movie, "Ah Wilderness," that was filmed in Grafton, Mass. center when he was a young boy he was mowing the lawn with a gravely tractor and one of the Production crew members was so impressed with such a young lad being able to move such a big tractor.  Al said to me, " I just couldn't tell him that it was self driven.  Turns out Al said, he was given the opportunity to hold the cue cards in the back of a Rolls Royce for the movie. And he also told me that  like myself he was a undergrad of Fitchburg State in Massachusetts something I never knew when I was young. Flash back to the early days, I remember his father living into his 90's and like his father so did Al getting the opportunity to live a full life. May peace be with you all who knew Al because I know the kind of man he was you will have a memory that will put a smile on your face and you'll think to yourself, I'm going to miss that son of gun.
