Betty Lou Capotosto

28 juin 194324 décembre 2020

Betty Lou Capotosto of Riverside, California passed away on December 24, 2020 at the age of 77.

Betty Lou was born on June 28, 1943 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Betty Jo Ingram and J.C. Whitefield. Betty Lou relocated to California and spent the majority of her life living in Riverside, California. She worked for years with the Department of Motor Vehicles and the Department of Corrections before dedicating decades of her life to advocating and caring for our most vulnerable children as a foster-parent.

Lucky in love, Betty Lou was no stranger to marriage. She married Ronnie Cook on May 30, 1981 and in the midst of their 21-year adventure, they adopted 6 children together. Betty Lou married Ronald Capotosto on November 9, 2012, her self-proclaimed true-love. Widowed by the tragic death of Ron, Betty Lou was kept company by Rick Giles, whom she is known to have had more fun with than she thought possible.

Betty Lou is survived by 8 children, Michele Grossman, Tiffany Hamm, Dennis Ray, Arthur Cook, Sean Cook, Patricia Cook, Derrick Cook and Thomas Rocha as well as 2 step-children, Ronald Capotosto, Jr. and Josh McAlister and last but not least, 26 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was loved by more than can be counted and her legacy will live on in the lives she’s changed and love she’s left behind.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 15, 2021 at Acheson & Graham Garden of Prayer Mortuary located at 7944 Magnolia Ave in Riverside. Sadly, seating at the memorial will be limited due to COVID. A celebration of life will follow at 5880 Sandoval Ave in Riverside wherein all will be welcomed to visit, share stories and sing karaoke – dinner and refreshments to be provided.

May we all strive to live life with as much purpose, enthusiasm and joy as Betty Lou, a special soul, never to be forgotten by anyone that has had the pleasure to meet her.

My sweet grandma - always so incredibly compassionate, kind, strong, fun-loving, outgoing, independent and rambunctious. Always the life of the party, the Karaoke Queen. No longer with us in person but her love and laughter will never fade. She will be forever missed and always in the hearts of so many. Rest in peace my sweet grandma.

Betty Lou was my sister and the most amazing person I have ever known. We both went through a lot of similar situations. But we were always survivors and I could always depend on her love and I loved her capacity for fun. She was beautiful inside and out. My condolences to all friends and family. She will be forever missed and loved
