I met Caprice only within the last year but her impression on me was lasting.  At a time when our culture values new, young, and different it was so obvious that the richness of Caprices’ experience and her sense of happiness attracted people.  Her substance was equally obvious and her joy for life was infectious.  People seemed to be aware that engaging her to hear her story would be meaningful.  Just to witness her energy and excitement for life, family, friends, and experiences made you rethink your outlook.  In my brief meetings with her the story of her life was inspirational particularly the challenge of her early life in China, and Taiwan.  I am sure her life was full and she took the time to enjoy and engage all those around her most of all her family and especially Alana.  I only wish I had more opportunities to enjoy her, but I know that she is a person that lived life with the sense of joy and engagement that we all can learn from.  She will be missed but her inspiration will live on.

I only met Caprice a few times in the last year of her life, but the twinkle in her eye was unforgettable. Despite her small stature, she clearly has a large appetite for life that was incredible to see. She didn't let anything stop her from living to the fullest, especially when it came to spending time with Alana. Thank you to Alana for sharing her with our family. We will always remember her and welcome stories and memories of her. ❤️

My relections on Caprise Suen

Stories leading up to my meeting  Granny…aka Caprise held no candle to when I actually met this amazing woman last summer while she was visiting Alana in Boston.
 Although tiny in size her presence filled the air with a serinity only a person just shy of her 9th decade on earth could behold.  
Resilience flowed through her soul.  
She reflected on her  early childhood years which were met with challenges and loss - yet her family was held together by pride, determination and no doubt faith.   
Her eyes twinkled with  joy and great pride when she spoke about her son,Alan and granddaughter,
Alana.   
I felt truly blessed to have met this incredible mother turned prideful grandmother.  Our short but wonderful times with her-mesmerized me as I learned more about this-beautiful woman that had kindness in her eyes, wisdom in her words and love in her heart.
I immediately had a deep respect and love for “granny” - seeing through her -that life gives each of us different paths and outcomes. 
For all the sadness we
feel from her death -
We  can equally feel the love from her impact in our  lives.  She will always be in our hearts She showed us how to live each day with determination and grit. 
It was inspiring to just watching her wheel around undeterred by any obstacle. Thats how she tackled all of lifes 
Triumphs and tragedies. 

I am grateful for knowing Caprise and wished I had known her longer as she illuminated a wonderful light here on earth.

Why did you leave it was not your time. Caprice going to miss you this is Sandra your caregiver I am glad you came in to my life I learn many things from you thank you.                  FLY HIGH MY FRIEND.     Please send me a sign you made it to heaven  and don’t forget to say hi to my parents.

I remember her excited to be there with all the family.

 I remember Caprice as affable, and always easygoing with a pleasant personality.

I remember Caprice engaging with everyone even if she was meeting them for the very first time.

I remember her enjoying the different foods, and young people
Caprice will be greatly missed.
