

In 1954, David moved to California with his father and brother. He attended the Fresno School District. After graduating from Edison High School, he was drafted by the United States Army in 1967 and served a tour in Viet Nam.
In 1969, David departed the military in Los Angeles, California and became a resident. In 1970, David met the love of his life Jeannette Milhouse and married in September 1972.
David had diversity of employment, after a few years his Wife encourage him to join the Southern California Rapid Transit District (SCRTD), currently known as Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transit Authority (METRO). David retired from Metro and rested for awhile after being board, he tried Orange County Transit.
He was an avid Mason for Thomas Wallace Lodge Chapter 49, where he learned to be a Mason over the years. He enjoyed his fish(ing), traveling, reading, watching films, working on his infamous PT Cruiser, and spending all his time with his family.
On Saturday, August 15, 2020, David was called home.
David leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted and loving Wife Jeannette Mayo, of 47, years and 11 months, eight children, Uvette (Mario), Christopher(Kristie), Shantel, David II, DaJeannette, Vanetta, TaRon, and Rhonda, 15 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, his brother Richard Mayo(Murlynn) , Step Mother Joyce Mayo and a host of relatives and friends.
HIS PRESENCE WILL BE MISSED
A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 4 at 9:45 a.m. at Riverside National Cemetery - 22495 Van Buren Blvd, Riverside, CA. 92518.
