Don was born on May 28, 1947, in Rexburg, Idaho to Reid Sanders and Gladys Virginia Woolf. He was the second of three children. His siblings included his older sister Nancy and twin brother, Ronald.
On January 31, 1969, he was married and sealed to his eternal companion, Verna Katherine Marsh in the Los Angeles Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Together, Don and Vi raised a family of 7 children: Kevin (Melissa), Keri, Wendy (Ricardo), Matthew (Mark), Brett (Crystal), Bryan (Sarah), and Shaun (Amy) whom they taught to love the Lord and each other.
A meaningful part of Don’s life was his service in his church. As a 19 year-old, he served a two year mission in Florida. He served many years as both a ward clerk and a stake clerk. In his latter years he loved working in the Redlands temple. If his health allowed, he would have loved to serve in the temple until the day he passed. Don loved to make people laugh, loved the gospel, loved Jesus Christ and will be remembered for the smile he shared.
Don is survived by his wife, 7 children, 19 grandchildren (with one on the way), and 6 great-grandchildren.
