It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donna Mansfield, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend. Donna’s warmth and spirit touched the lives of many, and her legacy will forever be cherished.
One of my favorite memories of Mom is the moment we danced together at my wedding. That joyous occasion truly captured her essence—full of love and happiness. Donna took immense pride in her contributions to the Foster Care Program, where she opened her heart and home to 72 children over the years, providing them with love and care.
Donna was a passionate woman with diverse hobbies. She found joy in painting, gardening, and playing music—particularly percussion instruments, piano, and keyboard. Her love for music began in her childhood as she performed with her high school marching band, orchestra, and the Riverside concert band, as well as at her church.
In addition to her artistic pursuits, Donna was a small business owner, running antique and thrift stores that allowed her to share her passion for decorating. She relished spending time with family, especially during breakfast outings with her sons, Robert Alton Mansfield and John Kevin Mansfield, and her daughter, Deborah Susan Mansfield-Hughes.
What I love most about my mom is her resilience. Even after facing health challenges, including strokes, she continued to embrace life with joy and gratitude. Her infectious smile and loving spirit drew people to her, and many would stop by just to bask in her warmth.
Donna would want to be remembered as a strong, confident Christian woman who loved her family fiercely and cherished her late husband, Robert John Mansfield. Their reunion in heaven brings us comfort during this difficult time.
Our family has been profoundly blessed to have had such a lovely lady as our mother. Mom, I will always be waiting for you to tickle the keyboard and play my favorite song, “It’s a Small World After All.” Your love will remain in our hearts forever.
We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the care staff for their kindness and support during Donna’s final years. Your dedication brought comfort to her and our family.
A graveside service for Donna will be held Tuesday, November 19, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Boulevard, Riverside, CA 92518.
