Dora Lee McCauley

Dora was a devoted Military wife, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She was born in Minden, Louisiana on 28 Mar 1936 to Cornelius and Hazel George and grew up with four brother and four sisters.

She met the love of her life Roston McCauley Jr. and they had 30 years together before his premature death in 1986. This was quite an adventure for her being married to a military man and traveling the US. With a smile, hug and good advice to five children, she always supported the endeavors of her children. Dora was a devoted Christian who never missed an opportunity to pray. She was one of the best cooks in the world.

She lived her life on the bright side of the street trying to be kind and helpful to all. Dora was predeceased by her husband Roston McCauley Jr. She is loving survived by her children Sherlyn McCauley-Pearson (Tommie Pearson), Tamry McCauley, Rhonda Laster (Billy), Roston McCauley III (Debbie) and Gary McCauley. Sister Mary Baker, brother Cornelius George, (Hazel) and granddaughters Brandie McCauley-McIntyre, Tayrn Laster-Whitehead, and Erica Laster, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

We would like to thank all the wonderful family members that have supported us and prayed for us the past few years of Mom’s hospice care.
