AVIS DE DÉCÈS

Dorothy Severe Whitlock

22 décembre 1924 – 28 avril 2025
Avis de décès de Dorothy Severe Whitlock
AUX SOINS DE

Acheson & Graham Garden of Prayer Mortuary

Dorothy S. Whitlock, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and faithful servant of the Lord, passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior on April 28, 2025 in Murrieta, California at the age of 100.

Born on December 22, 1924, in Riverside, California, Dorothy was the daughter of Claude and Ella Severe. She grew up alongside her siblings, Claude, Beth, and David Severe. Moving at a young age with her family to the farming community of Imperial Valley, she experienced a life of hard work and perseverance, growing up without the conveniences many take for granted — even living without electricity until her high school years. These early experiences shaped her into a woman of resilience, strength, and deep faith.

Dorothy was the beloved wife of the late Albert Whitlock, with whom she shared many cherished years. She was a loving and proud mother to her two sons, William (Georgia) and Kenneth (Beth); grandmother to Don (Denise), Tyler, and Joshua (Kate) Whitlock; great-grandmother to Travis and Lucy; and great-great-grandmother to Savannah Whitlock.

Dorothy anxiously awaited the arrival of her twin great-grandchildren, Mojave Jean and Reed Quitman Whitlock. Though she was unable to witness their birth, her love and prayers surrounded them even before they enter this world.

Dorothy was a lifelong member of the Riverside Seventh Day Baptist Church, where she worshiped faithfully, built lifelong friendships, and served her community. Her commitment to her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and her gentle spirit and unwavering belief in God’s promises were an inspiration to all who knew her.

Dorothy's life was a testament to endurance, love, and faith. Though she faced many challenges, her heart remained generous, her spirit unbroken, and her faith unshakable.

A memorial service will be held at the Riverside Seventh-day Baptist Church at a date to be determined in the future, where family and friends will gather to celebrate her life and the blessed hope we share in Christ.

"Well done, good and faithful servant... Enter into the joy of your Lord." (Matthew 25:23)
