

Douglas Cecil Klopfenstein, 76, passed away Wednesday, March 20th, 2024 in his home with family by his side due to cancer and COPD. Doug was born November 2nd, 1947 to Cecil and Dorris Klopfenstein in Glendale, CA. Doug was the middle child and grew up with his older sister Linda and younger brother Stan. Doug attended San Gabriel High. Doug was an athlete in school participating in baseball, football, and basketball among other sports as a kid. He also had a love for racing and hot rods. Doug started his career in 1972 working as a flight attendant for United Airlines. This would lead him to meet and marry his beloved wife.
In 1983 Doug married Linda Diane Klopfenstein and shortly after moved to Moreno Valley CA. They welcomed their daughter Courtney in 1988 and son Trevor in 1993. Doug retired from the airline in 2006 and did a few different jobs including appraisals. His biggest passion was working with kids. He spent much of his time coaching both his kids in sports and substitute teaching at Calvary Chapel Moreno Valley. They moved into their current home where they would live for nearly 30 years raising their family and eventually welcoming his grandchildren Ethan and Easton into the world. He was grateful to walk his daughter down the aisle in 2014 and watch Courtney marry her husband Jon.
Doug was grateful to watch his son Trevor marry Jazmine, the love of his life, this last fall. Doug is remembered most for his outgoing personality and infectious smile.
