Born May 29, 1928, in Cirebon, Indonesia to Lodewijk and Therese Klerks, Ben was one of seven children. He served honorably in the Royal Dutch Navy before coming to the United States in 1962. For
53 years he made his home in Corona.
A devoted husband of 62 years to Henriette, loving father to Rodney (died in infancy), Raymond (Stephanie), and Gordon (Sally), proud grandfather of five and great-grandfather of six, Ben’s
greatest joy was his family. He loved traveling, fishing, and enjoying God’s creation in nature. As a founding member and president of the Wapenbroeders veterans club, he valued fellowship and
lifelong friendships.
We thank God for his long life, faithful love, and steady example. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
Services will be held Saturday, March 14, at Pierce Brothers Crestlawn Memorial Park and Mortuary. Viewing begins at 8
a.m., with service at 9 a.m., followed by Graveside.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made
