He was 81 years old when the Lord called him home to heaven.
Born April 3, 1933 in Riverside, CA, to Jose and Concepcion Jimenez, Elias was the 4th child among his 10 siblings, Lilly, Vicky, Mercy, Josue, June, Becky, Levi, Ada and Jose.
Immediately after his discharge from the U.S. Army in 1950, Elias married his new bride "Rose" and they planted their roots in the Casa Blanca neighborhood of Riverside. Immediately thereafter, Elias worked as a civilian mechanic at Norton AFB until he retired in 1988.
During his years as a mechanic, as well as raising a young family, Elias received a calling from our Lord to serve as a pastor for the Church of God of Prophecy in 1956, helping to plant a church in Colton during the 1970's. During his time with the Church, Elias served as District Overseer until his retirement in 1999. At time of death he served the Lord for 58 years.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 63 years, Rose Emily Estrada Jimenez; his three son's Richard Jimenez of Fresno, Ca, Jason Jimenez of Northe Platte, NE, Erik Jimenez of Riverside, Ca and his two daughters Sandra Jimenez and Vina Magaña, both whom reside in Corona, Ca.
Elias is also survived by his 19 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and countless brothers and sisters in Christ.
A Celebration of Elias's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 22, 2014, at Church of God of Prophecy in Riverside. The family will receive friends at a location to be determined immediately after.
