

Emma "Emmy" Aleida Bollen, 84, passed away on August 03, 2012 in Corona, California. She is survived by her husband, Henk Bollen, and their three children: Maja Bollen of Corona, CA, Bart Bollen and Charlene of Dallas, OR, and Wietske Ligtenberg of Las Cruces, NM; As well as her sisters Wilhelmina VanUden, and Janie Hinkamp and Han, Riek Huitink, all of The Netherlands, eight grandchildren who lovingly called her Oma; Jeff and Jason Bollen, Jeremy Bollen and Andrea, Brian Bollen, Everett Ligtenberg and Tanya, Tiffany Ligtenberg, Hannah and Sarah Bollen, and three great-grandchildren; Collin, Bryston, and Samuel.
She was born in the city of Dinxperlo, The Netherlands, on December 10, 1927. She worked as a mid-wife until she and Henk were married. They married in Bredevoort Reformed Church in Bredevoort, The Netherlands, April 16, 1952. They lived in The Netherlands, and South Africa, and in The Netherlands again before immigrating to the United States with their children on November18, 1966. In 1969 the whole family moved to California. She was the founder of the Norco Valley Bird Breeders Club and was editor of the Valley of Paradise Bird Club in Redlands. She spent her time as a volunteer for the 3 way thrift store in Chino, and had many hobbies including crafts, knitting, collecting dolls, and listening to classical music. She also loved cooking an abundance of delicious food for everyone to eat, and made sure everyone's tummies were full and happy. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Pierce Brothers Crestlawn Memorial Chapel, 11500 Arlington Ave, Riverside, CA 92505
