

Fred H. Smith passed away at the age of 81 in Riverside, California on March 2, 2018. Fred was born in Riverside, California to Oscar Smith and Mary Elizabeth “Betty” (Hooper-Smith) Roberts. Fred married Lois on November 30, 1975 in Riverside, California.
Fred was employed for most of his working years as a draftsman for Bourns, Inc. Had it not been for the economic decline, he would have continued to work, but was forced into retirement at the age of 75 years of age. He was a lifetime member of both The Fraternal Order of the Moose and The Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks, as well as being a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church and lifetime membership also at Mountain Lakes Campground, near Lytle Creek, California. These memberships brought forth a vast circle of wonderful lifelong friendships.
Fred was preceded in death by his wife, Lois on November 4, 2014. He is survived by six children: Becky Jaconetti; Bryan Smith; Kenneth Reed; Debbera DiCostanzo; Cindy Nickel and Susan Johns. They had 14 grandchildren, 4 of which preceded him in death; 9 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind, his beloved dog and cat, Bella and Simba.
Memorial services will be held at Wesley United Methodist Church located at 5770 Arlington Avenue, Riverside on March 26, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will be at Pierce Brothers Crestlawn Memorial Park and Mortuary located at 11500 Arlington Avenue, Riverside on March 28, 2018 at 1:00 p.m.
