Helen Adame (Rodriguez) Okendo was born in Arizona on October 27, 1921, to Maria Adame and Jose Rodriguez. She departed from this world on May 2, 2011, in Walnut Creek, California with her son Jerry and his family at her side. Helen was a longtime resident of Riverside where together with her husband, Carmillo, she raised her children. She worked for many years as a citrus packer. Helen was a faithful member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish and St. Thomas Catholic Church in Riverside. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carmillo and daughter, Martha. Helen is survived by two sons, a daughter, a daughter-in-law, twelve grandchildren, seven sisters, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held on Wed., May 11, 2011 from 5:00-8:00PM with a rosary service at 7:00PM at Acheson & Graham Mortuary, 7944 Magnolia Ave. in Riverside. A Mass will be held at St. Thomas Catholic Church on Thurs., May 12, 2011 at 10:00AM, 3774 Jackson St. also in Riverside. The burial will be private.
