

Ray is preceded in death by his father, Henry “Hank” Raymond Campbell III and his maternal grandparents, Rudy and Arlene Gronseth and paternal grandparents, Don and Gail Campbell.
Ray is survived by his mother, Darla Campbell, siblings, Jodi Robitzer, Julie Johnson and Ryan Campbell. He is also survived by his uncle and aunt, Tim and Rosalyne Campbell and his cousins, Timmy Campbell, Traci Dustin and Trisha Morganti. As his mother and siblings lived out of state, he celebrated holidays and special occasions in the Campbell household. He was loved by them as if he was one their own.
Ray is lovingly remembered by his niece and nephew, Mikey and Taylor Robitzer of Riverside, California. His nephews, Treshawn, Trent, and Trevn Johnson, and his niece, Tessa Johnson of Mesa, Arizona. Ray was also a great uncle to his great-nieces Kingsley Johnson and Olivia Robitzer.
Ray was born in Wurzburg, Bavaria Germany at the U.S. Army Hospital, as his father was in the Army and stationed in Germany. He was born on November 04, 1970. He graduated from Arlington High School in 1989 and went on to earn an Associates Degree in Arts from Riverside Community College in 1993, his Bachelor of Arts, Psychology from University of California, Riverside in 1996 and his Masters of Arts, Education from Chapman University in 2006. He worked as teacher throughout Riverside County. Most recently at Val Verde Elementary School. He taught GATE students for many years and was an AVID teacher as well. At the time of Ray’s passing he was teaching the 6th grade, Language Arts and Social Studies and the elective STEM/Robotics program.
Ray was an avid sports fan. His teams were the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Oakland Raiders. He loved chess, to play and to teach. He even had a chess club at his school. Ray loved theatre, he loved to introduce new and exciting performances to his friends and family. His most recent passion was the musical Hamilton. Ray loved teaching. Ray saw potential in children. His students were his children. He nurtured, guided and advised his students on not just school subjects, but also in life lessons.
Ray was a renaissance man. He loved to cook and he especially loved to prepare meals for his family and friends. He loved nothing more than to share his specialties with those he loved. Ray was also extremely intelligent. His interests were so varied. Ray loved the Lord. He had memorized most of the bible by a young age. He embraced his friends whom he called his “adopted family”. Ray was cherished by many. He will always hold a special place in the hearts of all those who loved and cherished him. Most of all, Ray’s greatest love was for his nieces and nephews. He wanted them to have everything life had to offer. Ray had a profound impact on people and will be greatly missed.
A visitation for Henry will be held Sunday, October 10, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Acheson & Graham Garden of Prayer Mortuary, 7944 Magnolia Ave, Riverside, CA 92504. A funeral serive will occur Monday, October 11, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Harvest Christian Fellowship, 6115 Arlington Avenue, Riverside, California 92504.
