Hey Grandpa 🙋 
You will always be the toughest man I have ever been blessed with being Able to observe. I know as a kid we never gotta consistent bonding chance.  Then when I hit my teens I was a knucklehead that never tried. But even in those rare moments that I did get too see you it was so great of an impression Nd left your imprint on my being. I can still hear your voice you and grandma.. I love you both. MAY WE MAKE UP FOR LOST TIME AND UNION ONCE I CROSS OVER

I'm thinking about you today, as I often do and want to say that no matter how much time goes by, you will always be loved and remembered for what you stood for.. in the love shown to us.. time spent with us..your strong character and memories that I hold dear to my heart. Sent with love and gratitude for what you meant to my life!

I did know my abuelito my Grandpa all my life he was and always will be  my f avorite human being my abuelita  is  the most  beaUtiful woman .my GraNdparents are the best human beings ive  ever known .  I. Miss them both dearly I need my faMily more with them no longer here I always snuck. My   happy hellos often to my graNdparent as to saY I love them .They know  my voice my laugh  etc.they know me they loved me  adored me And I adored them  I love you grandma and grandpa MUAH FROM karlA ur  favorite granddaughter

I never really met you personally sometimes I wish I would have, but I do remember you as a young girl. May you rest with the angels in heaven

I only had the opportunity of meeting him once, I will keep that memory forever. May he rest in eternal peace.

I didn't get to know John as well as I would have liked to but I will always  cherish the memories I do have of him. For instance the last time I was able to make it out to see him I was very nervous because I hadn't seen him for many years and I was afraid of what he'd think and when I met up with him he treated me as if we talked everyday and was very accepting. And I will always remember he looked me in the eyes and told me I was a real calderas. He will be missed and I look forward to a time where we can be together again

Dear Stella, Bill and family,
We were so blessed to have known John and have so many fond memories celebrating his many Birthdays, cheering for his favorite Dodger team and just spending time listening to his interesting life stories.  He was a man of incredible honor and integrity and opened his heart to everyone he touched.  He had an amazing love for life especially for his family.  John will be greatly missed but will be forever in our hearts.

I know how much your dad meant to you and, after meeting him and hearing his story, I was as entranced as everyone else with this charming, tough, sweet wonderful man.  The degree of your loss is immense, but so also are the stories and memories he leaves with you and the three generations below him. Grandpa,

I've had a hard time accepting your passing. You're the type of person you think will be around forever. I've only ever wanted to show you how much I love you and make you proud in my work and life. I'll never stop working hard with you in my thoughts. You're a very important man to me grandpa, and now you're with grandma. I love you.

John was a man of immeasurable character and uncompromising integrity.  He embodied all the best qualities that have come to characterize the Great Depression-era generation which defended our country and formed the society. He built his first home, he raised a wonderful family, he rose through the ranks to the highest level of government service and he established a sterling reputation through a lifetime of decency, determination, hard work, consistency, achievement and faith. He provided us all with a shining example of how to live life with a sense of purpose without forsaking the basic principles of honesty, fairness and personal accountability. I consider myself fortunate to have known such an extraordinary man and blessed to have been welcomed into his family. John may have been my "Father In-Law" through my marriage to his beautiful daughter Stella, but in my heart I will always think of him as my "Dad."

We from the Orosco side of the Calderas family are truly blessed to have Uncle John to be part of our family. There wasn't a time at a family get together or just a trip he made to come see us that he didn't smile or laugh or just sit and listen with us. We loved to hear the stories he would tell and will never forget his laugh and his smile. We were truly blessed. We will miss him forever. Thank you Uncle John. Our hear felt prayers are with the kids and grandkids of a very great man. God bless you all.

Although I was a Calderas for a short time John always made me feel welcome. My boys visits were far apart and too few, but John always made them feel like family and special. We are so blessed to have heard of his adventures and stories about family. Im truly honored to know him and have him for a role model for the boys.

I am honored and blessed to be a part of the Calderas Family through his son, John Jr.  Our three children have had the privilege of growing up with someone they looked up to, admired and loved, as I do. I am so thankful to be considered a part of your family and since my father's passing, John has been my father figure who my mother and I spent all our holidays with.  It was such a joy to see my mom, John and Carmen spending the entire Christmas night talking and laughing together and I will always remember the little dance I got to have with John that night. There was a rare tree
That grew in our midst
A Statesman was he
with branches sun-kissed

Sprouting from humble seed
Gave him heart and soul
Formed from compassion's creed
Dipped in words of gold
