

John Alan Jacobs, born August 9, 1951, in Los Angeles, California, to parents Paul Anthony Jacobs and Betty Jean Jacobs (Smith), passed peacefully on July 25, 2024. John’s legacy includes the family who meant the world to him.
In 1994, John married Peggy (Houser) Jacobs. The two recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. John was a loving father to his four children Michael, Natalie, Paul (Jake), and Matthew and grandfather to 7 grandchildren.
After graduating from Newberry Park High School in 1969, John served in the United States Navy for four years during the Vietnam War, working in Signal Intelligence. Upon returning home, he began his career with Northrop Grumman, an American aerospace and defense company. One of the highlights of John’s work involved the Northrop B-2 Spirit, also known as the stealth bomber. John worked for Northrop Grumman for 35 years until his retirement at which time he became a contractor for Northrop until 2023.
In his free time and during retirement, John donated to the Wounded Warriors Project, Boys Town and volunteered at the Richard Nixon Library. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, whether it was golfing, boating, or taking his annual trip with friends to Crawley Lake for fishing. He was a lover of travel and exploring new places with his wife Peggy. Cruising the Mediterranean and vacations to the Big Island of Hawaii were his favorites. John also enjoyed spending time with animals, notably caring for a very old turtle named Tommy, feeding it lettuce and greens over the years.
John enjoyed the company of his family and loved to be around his kids and grandkids, hosting many family vacations around the country, where the family enjoyed new adventures and quality time together. John was incredibly proud of the family he created and the unbreakable ties they have and will continue to grow.
John is preceded in death by his parents Paul and Betty, as well as his brother Michael H. Jacobs. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Jacobs; sister, Diane O’Hara (nee Jacobs); his children Michael Jacobs (Kasie), Natalie Wlotzko (Jordan), Paul Jacobs (Katie), and Matthew Houser (Michelle); and grandchildren Shaun Jacobs, Madeline Cook (Matt), John Jacobs, Jordan Wlotzko, Jr., Liam Jacobs, Alina Wlotzko and Matthew Houser, Jr.
A graveside service for John will be held Wednesday, August 14, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd., Riverside, CA 92518
