On December 19, 2018, Joyce A. McNamara, a loving wife and mother of two children, passed away at age 63. Joyce was born on December 30, 1954, in Fort Madison, Iowa, to Jack and Barbara Tweedy. In 1962 the family relocated to the Riverside area, where Joyce attended school, graduating from Rubidoux High School in 1972.
In 1976 she married Tim McNamara. They raised two children, a daughter Melissa and a son Jay.
Joyce furthered her education at Riverside Community College and started working at Security Pacific Bank in Chino and Riverside. She later returned to school and started her own medical transcription business. In the late nineties she started working in commercial insurance; after 15 years with HUB International, she retired in 2015.
Joyce’s greatest joy was being a mother to Melissa and Jay and Gigi to her 5 grandchildren who meant the world to her. She loved to watch them play sports and attended many of their activities. Joyce’s love for travel took her on many cruises to Hawaii, Mexico, the Caribbean and Alaska; family trips camping by the sea, annual trips to the beach with her sisters, and foreign travel to many countries in Europe. Joyce also enjoyed playing the slots and shooting craps. Another hobby she enjoyed was sewing and arts and crafts. Joyce participated in several walks, some multiple days, to raise money for breast cancer awareness and ALS.
Joyce is survived by her husband Tim, daughter Melissa, son Jay, sisters; Linda, Sheila, Toni, Wendy, Diane, and Kim. She is also survived by her brothers Tim and Jerry, 5 grandchildren, many extended family and countless friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother Barbara, father Jack, and brother Randy.
Joyce was a loving, caring, beautiful person inside and out. She loved spending time with family and friends and taught us all to live life to the fullest.
We will forever carry Joyce in our hearts.
