AVIS DE DÉCÈS

Juan Lemos

30 mars 1939 – 29 janvier 2022
Avis de décès de Juan Lemos
AUX SOINS DE

Acheson & Graham Garden of Prayer Mortuary

Juan Lemos passed away on January 29, 2022 at Riverside Community Hospital surrounded by his family after a 3 week stay battling pneumonia. He was born in Riverside to Maria and Antonio Lemos on March 30, 1939 and lived in Riverside all of his life. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Carmen Pasillas Lemos, their sons and their wives, John Peter and Maria, Henry and Kristen, and Michael Jason and An. Eight grandchildren, Ashley, Amanda, Ryan, Lauren, Kaden, Michaela, Michael and Jason. Siblings Hope, Valley, Gilbert, Frankie and Rosie. And he was preceded in death by siblings Tony, Albert, David and Pat.

Johnny attended Casa Blanca Elementary School, Chemawa Junior High, and graduated from Ramona High School in 1958. He joined the United States Air Force in 1961, was stationed at Vandenburg Air Force Base, and served in Korea. He was honorably discharged in 1965. He met Carmen, then 15.5 years old, through his sister Valley when he returned home. Johnny said he knew he was going to marry Carmen when he met her! And indeed, they got married in December, 1968. She became the love of his life and they did everything together. He went on to work for Fleetwood Trailers and then CorBan-Armco Pipe Co. for 18 years. After the company closed the Riverside location in 1984, he had a number of temporary jobs for 5 years. He worked at Chevron Gas Station, Riverside City School District and Whitaker Pipe Co. In 1988, he applied for the California Department of Corrections and was accepted to do his training at Richard A McGee Correctional Training Academy in Lodi. He began this next career at 50 years old in 1989 at Chuckawalla Valley State Prison in Blythe. He transferred to Norco State Prison after 5 years to be closer to home. Later he transferred to Patton State Hospital so he could get weekends off. He retired at age 67 in December, 2005.

Johnny enjoyed his family and especially his grandchildren. He loved his brothers and sisters and enjoyed theirs calls, visits and family reunions. He was generous with everyone, always willing to lend a hand or a dollar. He loved to take Carmen out to eat and get her special treats. He enjoyed having all the grandkids over to spend the night when they were young and having breakfast with them. Later he enjoyed taking them to Big Bear to go snow tubing, teaching Ryan and Kaden to play chess, playing & flying kites with the twins, watching football games with everyone but having a hard time choosing whose team to go for! He loved hearing Ashley play the guitar and listening to all the girls sing, and to Michaela telling stories. He also enjoyed spending time with his sons, sharing bible studies and conversations about their walk with the Lord and how important it is to have a personal relationship with Jesus. He loved to tell the stories of when he’d go door to door, telling people about Jesus and the miracles he witnessed. He always had an answer for any question, having knowledge and wisdom that came from his many hours spent studying and being with the Lord, each day throughout his life. He was very special to his family because he was so loving, caring, understanding and humble and he will be greatly missed by all of us.
