June Gaye Ward-Overton, 86, died due to cancer. June retired at 62 from teaching in the Placentia Yorba Linda Unified School District after finishing two Masters degrees and a Ph.D. She then worked as a counselor and social worker for several organizations including the California Department of Corrections, Parents United, Tri-City Mental Health, Plymouth Village Health Center and the County of San Bernardino Adult Protective Services before retiring again at age 79. June is survived by her children Pam Rush, John Overton (Timmi), Lucinda Edmunds (Rollin) and Sarah Overton-Fraser (Dave). June has nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
