Major Lawrence E. Herndon, age 88, of Riverside, CA, passed away on April 2nd, 2023. "Larry" was born in 1934 in Shannon, MS to Billy Lee and Gertie Herndon but spent most of his life in Memphis, TN. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers William Herndon, Johnny Herndon, and Jesse Herndon, and sister, Laverne Brewer. He is survived by his son, Trevor Herndon (Karen), daughter Melanie Betty (Mark), and grandchildren, Crystal Marie Herndon and Chase Ryder Betty. Major Herndon was an avid pilot and proud Air Force veteran with 22 years of military service, most notably stationed in Sidi Slimane Air Base in Morocco.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 2nd at 11:00, at Acheson and Graham Garden of Prayer mortuary followed by burial at Riverside National Cemetery at 13:00.
