Lester Vernon Craycraft Sr.

LESTER VERNON CRAYCRAFT SR. January 28, 1916 - December 28, 2011 Lester was the sixth of nine children born to William Paul and Nellie Gray Spence Craycraft in South Portsmouth, Kentucky. He died surrounded by his loving family. He married Mary Alexander in 1939 and they were married 52 1/2 years, until her death in 1992. Lester and family moved to Riverside, CA in 1951 where he worked for Naval Weapons Center in Norco. He was responsible for several inventions related to his work and some were patented by the Navy. He retired in May 1971 at age 55. Lester was an avid golfer and was a member of Jurupa Hills Country Club for over 40 years. He won the President's cup at age 84 and again at age 94. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. Lester is survived by two children, daughter Mary Ann (Frank) Provinziano of Mira Loma, CA, and son Lester "Sonny" Craycraft Jr. of Riverside. Four grandchildren: Lori Guzman of Hesperia, Brian (Irma) Marchando of Riverside, Terri (John Earl) Kettle of Friendswood, Texas and Alphonse Provinziano of Victorville. Nine great-grandchildren: Tony (Candace), BJ., Lisa (Drew), Chelsea, Sheyanne, Travis, Joey, Brenna and Aiden and three great-great-grandchildren, Iyonna, Alonzo and Zhane. A brother, Bill Craycraft (Ruth) from Friendship, Ohio, and many nieces and nephews and friend Mary Walbaum.The family would like to thank Vitas Hospice for all their guidance and support during Les's care.
