My most sincere condolences for your loss. Mrs Koskela impacted my life when I was in high school(Norte Vista HS), when I just came from Mexico in 2001. She was the most kind, generous, and godly woman that crossed my path. She helped my sister and I and a lot of friends of our HS (translating tests, paper work of our classes) she was amazing.

My prima Lily,
Yes, she was my first cousin from my father side. My deepest sympathy and prayers to the Koskela family.  In reading the memories posted here in her Obituary, they mentioned one thing in common, her beautiful smile. Yes, I must agree, she was the joyful person in our family gatherings, you would feel energized being next to her. Some of the fondest memories I have of her is growing up in Mexico as a kid later as a teenager here in California. She would advise me about life and school. For that you will always be in my thoughts and prayers. So how will my prima Lily will be remembered? That beautiful smile of hers.

Lilia was such an amazing lady  & grandmother to her little girls that she loved dearly. I’m so Happy I got to meet you Lilia talking  about the girls tumbling, practices and competitions, then to sharing our food recipes and talking about Mexico you truly were amazing.  Reading all these beautiful messages of all the lives that you touched  with your love, kindness and generosity is amazing to know what an extraordinary woman you were in this life. Thank you for All your advice because you also touched my heart. Thank you for that great smile of yours and your energy you got To share with me at dance I will truly miss that and forever I will cherish it - May you Dance and spread your wings you will forever remain Alive in our hearts and of your love ones.

Deepest condolences to the Koskela Family,

Lilia was a second mother to me growing up.  I cannot count the number of times she drove us to baseball practices, the beach or Castle Park in the summertime.  I still remember the smell of the Volkswagen Beetle and the brown Ford Aerostar.  Many a nap was taken in the back of those vehicles on the way home from something exhausting and fun.  It reminds me how fortunate I was to grow up on a cul-de-sac next to the Koskelas.  As an only child Chris, Jennifer and Peter were like my brothers and sisters and Lilia and Pete never batted an eye when I might just show up for dinner or fall asleep on the couch and spend the night.  When we were young, we spent countless hours in their backyard playing wiffle ball. When we hit all the wiffle balls over the fence we would raid the pantry for tinfoil, masking tape and whatever else we could find.  Lilia was always there to help us figure out a way to keep the game going.  She would let us flood the back lawn so we could make a “grass” slip and slide on a hot summer day.  There was never a boring day in the summer because she would help us figure out something fun to do if we whined about being “bored.”  She was always there for us with a caring heart, a wonderful smile and the energy that matched us kids.   I can still hear her cheering on our Norte Vista baseball team from the stands.  I could always hear her voice above all the others in the crowd.  She might have been tiny, but her voice was fierce!  I most remember how caring and thoughtful she was.  As we grew older it was comforting to know that she was right next door to my parents.  Even as my father’s health declined, I knew that Lilia would check up on my mom and dad and keep a close eye on them when I wasn’t around.  I am so thankful to have been lucky enough to grow up surrounded by their love. 
	God bless you, Lilia Koskela.  I would not be the man I am today if not for your love, guidance, acceptance and grace.

My dearest friend, my best friend, my neighbor and my spiritual warrior. Lilia was a woman of many traits she was a caring wife. A beautiful mother, a loving sister, an an amazing grandmother and most of all a woman of god. she was so full of life and lit up every room she entered, not only was she my neighbor but our children and grandchild grew up together. 
she was also known as the neighborhood mom everyone loved her and looked up to her. She will be missed dearly by the prado family till we meet again my friend🪽🤍

Chris,  Jennifer, Paige and Pepper.  Your Mom/Grandmother was a very lovely Lady.  She loved her family more than anything!!  And she loved Her Lord. As Christians we have the gift if eternal life so even though you are separated, at this time, you will get to spend eternity together
