Peg mentored me through high school and  college.  She instilled in me a love of the fine arts. She encouraged me to write both prose and music. She believed in me when I did not believe in myself.  She never expected perfection. She did expect my best effort. Nothing more. Nothing less. I am a better person having known her. 
There is a special place in "heaven" for people like Peg. I will never forget her.

First, my condolences to Peg’s family and friends.  Wishing I were there in person, but am in spirit.  

Those of you know that Peg was a fierce fighter for the California Teachers Association.  The passion she brought everyday to work was unwavering and will be sorely missed.  Peg had a softer side where she would share her travels and “cat” tales and oh yes, her martinis.  Relationships were very important, and she cultivated them whenever she had the chance.   

The soft sails have lifted Peg as she sips her martinis in peace and no pain.

My strongest memories of Peg are from the bargaining table. I will forever be grateful for her quiet strength, the depth of her knowledge, her passion to make the world a better place, and the mischievous glint she would get in her eye when she was about to bring the hammer. She was a friend, an ally, and one of the best teachers I have known. You could feel her fire but very seldom her temper. Her laugh was infectious and waa the cherry on top when bargaining went well. I have been blessed to have known her.

The sea is calm at twilight now, As evening mists roll in, Your boat lies quiet by the shore, Where your last voyage did begin. The seabirds cry their soft farewell, To one who knew them well, While Irish waves upon the beach Ring out their mournful bell. Ms. Peg you were an amazing neighbor of 15+ years. I will always cherish the memories we made together. Thank you for your words of wisdom and advice through the years. I hope you’re enjoying your Martini with 3 olives in Heaven! 

You will be greatly missed by everyone. You were definitely ONE of a kind!!!!

I am a better person for knowing Peg and her wise words.  I am forever grateful for her advocacy of all the teachers who knew her.  Thank you, Peg.

Peg Tracey was my Friend

Peg Tracey and I sat on different sides of the table
She as a union representative and I as admin
And we bonded so well for as much as we were able 
Because we stood for humanity and respect of the profession 
It didn’t matter your title did you really do your best
To stay student centered , uplift and to bless
We agreed that excellence would be our standard each day
We would lead by good communication , fairness and play
Our roles did not keep us from becoming friends
I will cherish our work until I see her again
People who live by God’s ways consistently 
Will see each other again and that’s a guarantee ( written by Dr. Judy White)

Peg was tough as nails. She always made me feel like she would make everything right, and she did.  I am grateful to have known her, worked with her and to have been protected by her. Peg, you were one of a kind-- the best kind. We are less without you. I will never forget you.
