On October 18, 1949, Marilyn Diane was born to Herman and Imogene “Sophie” Porter in Denver, Colorado. Marilyn grew up with five siblings: Carolyn Vicki, Jacquelyn Antoinette, Herman Jack, Gerald Dwayne and Gwendolyn Marie Porter who she loved very much. She was preceded in death by brother Timothy Porter.
The Porters moved to Southern California and settled in San Pedro, where the family settled in and raised two generations.
Marilyn is survived by her three children: Derek Jack, Brandy Annette, and Bridgette Ann. She was blessed with seven grandchildren: Cymone Ronzel, Andre, Khrystopher Aaron, Jasmyne Lynn, Elyjah Jaye, Jordan Jack, and a grandson expected in July. She also lives on through her great-grandson Jayden Anzel, a host of nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was a much loved mother, grandmother, and friend who went home to be with her beloved Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 2, 2011. We will always miss her, but we know we will see her again in heaven where there are no more tears.
