

passed away March 20, 2022, at the age of 70, in Los Angeles, California. Survived by his
mother Ada, Father Alfred, sister Patricia and daughter Yolanda. He had 2 grandchildren Briana
and Andres, and one great grandchild, Adam.
He was born and raised in Los Angeles, where he earned Go-Kyu/ black belt in Karate,
completed the Wing Cadet Encampment in the Civil Air Patrol program for the US Air Force, and
worked as a lifeguard at the local pool. After his high school graduation from Bishop Mora
Salesian in 1969, Michael enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, for 3 years, with 9 months
in The Vietnam War. His rankings included Lance Corporal, Corporal and Sergeant as a Mortar
Man; his awards, ribbons and medals consisted of National Defense mdl, Vietnam Service mdl,
Navy Achievement mdl w/Combat, Combat Action ribbon, Color 1st Class, “V” Sharpshooter
Bdg, Small Arms Good Conduct mdl and Letter of Appreciation. He was Honorably discharged
from active duty enlistment in 1971. He was a proud American who had the privilege to serve
his country.
As a civilian, he became a family man raising his one daughter, Yolanda, worked as a store
manager for Pep Boys and continued working after retirement for Frontline Security. He was
known for being a great man, who would do what he could, to help out a friend.
Services for Michael will be held May 26, 2022 at Acheson & Graham Garden of Prayer
Mortuary, followed by a full military burial service at Riverside National Cemetery.
