MIDORI DUFFIE February 17, 1934 ~ January 27, 2011 Midori was born in Hiroshima, Japan. After losing her sister and her home to the atomic bomb, her family moved to the city of Fukuoka. While working as a waitress, she met Don Duffie, who called her "Sandy." Against the wishes of her father, his parents, and the US Military, they were married and moved to America. Midori raised three children and worked at the Federal Reserve Bank in Los Angeles, before retiring to Rialto, California. Throughout her life, Midori took care of everyone who came within her reach. She is survived by three children, four grandchildren, family in America and Japan, and many good friends. Memorial services and reception will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 2pm, at Hope Lutheran Church, 6720 Melrose Ave., Hollywood, CA, 90038, (323) 938-9135.
