Cousins are our first friends in life...
Most of my memories of Patsy involve laughter.  In my mind's eye, these are the images I hold close:  Patsy laughing out loud, with whomever she would be talking to about some joke or distant memory that just came back to her about the last time we were together.  It was an inside joke one that only one or two people including Patsy would  understand, but when you're in the room with Patsy and her smile and laughter light up the room   you have no choice but to laugh, too, out loud and full and real.  It is just that beautiful and that contagious.
Patsy was a straight shooter, a fiery spirit.  She never hesitated to speak her mind, call someone out or to stand her ground.
I hold her in my heart remembering her laughing at family dinners, working on cars, driving and living life hard and fast.  I see her playing with her the nieces and nephews who she adored.  
She  always lived life on her own terms.  Patsy Gibson made her own rules.  She showed us all that the power of the human spirit, the power of the soul, is greater than we ever could have imagined.  With a soul that strong, I have to believe that Patsy's soul carries on forever, that life is truly eternal, she is still with us now and always will be.
She has taught me to believe; that there is no time other than now to believe in yourself, stand up for yourself, and appreciate every moment of this life.  We all live life differently now because of Patsy.  I think I always will.  Each time I force myself to try and repair a car, change a tire, ride a motorcycle, I'll feel Patsy's spirit.  Each time our family holds on, hugs on, and loves on one another, each gale of laughter at our family get-togethers, each time we appreciate the precious moments of life, of love, of family, the things that really matter most¦ Patsy is right there with us.
Life is about giving the gift of your time and your love to family, friends, and loved ones.  Truly, in the end, nothing else matters. Patsy always loved her family
If we can hold onto those precious moments, hold onto Patsy's passion for life, and live in some small way with half of the thrill, excitement and love of family that Patsy felt during her time here on this earth, then we can hold onto the beauty of her spirit and keep her right here with us.  Forever.
