Rodger was an all-around athlete in high school and also played second violin in the orchestra. He worked as a Longshoreman for over 47 years, but he was much more than that…he was a good Christian man, a wonderful son, a devoted and loving husband, a fantastic father and family man, a great brother and a terrific friend.
Rodger had a brilliant mind and gifted hands to complete any task. He was an accomplished artist who worked in many mediums; from oil and watercolor paintings to sketches and computer animation, he truly was World Class.
He was a talented musician and songwriter and loved to sing and play guitar with his wife Nancy and his brother in-law Dale DuPriest. He had a love for carpentry, cosmetology, mechanics, inventing and
tinkering throughout his days and whatever he did, he did it to perfection. If it needed to be fixed… “Papa will fix it”.
Rodger was a man of the highest character and integrity. He was honest, loyal, committed, loving and he enjoyed humor. He really loved to laugh. He was a great protector and provider for his family and loved ones and he will be sorely missed. Most of all, he loved his wife fiercely and his family unconditionally!
He is survived by his wife Nancy, five children, eleven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and the youngest of two sisters.
