Rosemarie “Rose” Yu Webb of Riverside, California passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her husband, Charlie and other family members and loved ones early Sunday morning of December 24, 2023, after a three-year battle with ovarian cancer.
Rosemarie was born to Elvira Gregorio Yu and Vicente Velacha Yu on July 30, 1958 in Manila, Philippines. Rose always had a smile that lights up the whole room. She was always the life of the party. Everyone loved her delicious brownies and flan. Her grandkids would always look forward to savoring her brownies at every gathering, whether it’s a small get together or big birthday or holiday parties.
Rose had an unwavering faith in God, and her faith only grew stronger in her final years of life. On in-home hospice since mid October 2023, she inspired others with her positive outlook and strong faith in God. Rose’s family stayed closely by her side throughout her journey. She bravely fought cancer with confidence, determination, and trust in God.
Prior to her illness, Rose and Charlie traveled a great deal - visiting forty-two US states and globetrotting in Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Rose leaves a legacy of strength, faith, and love which will live on forever through the memories of those who had the opportunity to know her and whose lives she had touched. Heaven has a new bright star and gained another angel.
Rose is survived by her husband, Charles Webb; son Alfred and daughter-in-law Razel, grandchildren Shawn, Maia, and Aicelle; siblings, Aurora, Teddy (Maureen), Mercy (Rolly), Fred (Flora); numerous nieces and nephews; grandnieces and grandnephews. She is preceded by her parents, Elvira and Vicente Yu, and brother (Danilo Yu).
Rose’s entire family would like to thank all the medical professionals who helped care for her, especially the kind-hearted hospice nurses and caregivers, some of whom have now become part of the family.
