

Ruby Mary Acosta was born to Jesus and Conferina Rodriguez on June 3, 1945 in Los Angeles, California at White Memorial hospital. They lived in East Los Angeles where she grew up in the township of Belvedere.
Ruby had two brothers and four sisters. Max, Ernie, Virginia, Helen, Mary and Vicky. Ruby was the youngest in her family. She attended Wabash Elementary school. Ruby's father passed away when she was 8 years old. She was brought up by her mother and her siblings.
In 1958 she started attending Belvedere Junior Highschool. She was the captain of her girls volleyball team and was nominated the best female athlete. She was a member of the student council. She was also awarded the certificate of perfect attendance! She was also voted queen of her class in the ninth grade. This is also the place, at the age of 13, that she met the love of her life Eddie Acosta. The couple began "going steady" during this time.
Ruby attended Garfield Highschool in East Los Angeles.
Ruby and Eddie got married August 15, 1964 at Soledad Catholic Church. Ruby had 3 children: Eddie, Arlene & Michael, 7 grandchildren: Faith, Elyse, Andrianna, Joshua, Bryan, Jenna and Matthew and 15 Great Grandchildren: Rylee, Kailynn & Maeve, Brayden, Kaleb, Kroy, Ian, Isaiah, Kam, Elijah, Micah, Luca, Ira, Jonah & Milo
She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved to cook for and serve others. She had the gift of hospitality. Ruby enjoyed camping, beaches, boating, listening to music, road trips, family get togethers and the children's sporting events. She also enjoyed watching a good murder mystery on television.
She was the beloved wife of her husband, Edward Acosta for 61 years.
Ruby's faith in Jesus Christ was very important to her and we know she is in heaven with her Lord today.
