

Thomas Doyle Letbetter Jr. passed away November 14, 2025. He was 82 years old. He was born on January 27th, 1943 in Manhattan, Kansas, but he grew up in College Station, Texas. Doyle was a student of music, an avid reader, a fisherman, and a woodworker.
He earned a Bachelor of Music from DePauw University in 1965. There he met and later married Hildegard, an exchange student from Germany with whom he had three daughters. After serving in the army as First Lieutenant, he went on to earn an MBA from the
University of Texas, Austin in 1975. Doyle started his professional career serving in the Governor’s Executive Budget Office for the State of Colorado. He also served as a contractual consultant to the Executive Director, Department of Administration and assisted in policy formulation and management of the Department.Later he worked as an Executive Director of Administration in the private legal industry. In this capacity, he managed a major law firm in Denver, Colorado. Eventually his career took him to southern California. In Riverside, Doyle worked for Best Best and Krieger
where he was instrumental in facilitating BB&K’s expansion in southern California. Shortly after his move to California, he met and married Joan. They spent almost 30 years together, until her death in 2019.
He will be greatly missed by his three daughters, their husbands and six grandchildren along with Joan’s family and a multitude of friends.
Doyle was a Commissioned Officer in the United States Army from September 1966 to November 1968. His military awards and decorations include Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and Bronze Star Medal.
Doyle’s burial will take place at Riverside National Cemetery Monday December 29 at 11:30am. The cemetery requests attendees to arrive 30 minutes early allowing you to be directed to the correct location and gather before the service begins.
In keeping with Doyle’s wishes a private gathering with family will follow.
