AVIS DE DÉCÈS
Gordon Jack Brown
15 décembre 1932 – 13 juillet 2020
Gordon Jack Brown Jr. loving father 1932-2020, passed away on July 13th. 2020 in Murray, Utah.
He was born December 15th, 1932, in Chili, Richland Township, Indiana. Gordon attended and graduated from Chili High School. He married Nancy Joan South on August 30th, 1957, in Crown Point, Indiana. Our beloved dad worked for the Chessie System railroad for 33 years. He was the provider for seven children. He came from a large farming family in Indiana. He went into the United States Air Force for four years. When he got out he said: “If the Railroad doesn’t hire me I will go back to the Air Force and make a career out of it”. He stayed with the Railroad all his working life.
The sky kept calling him and he took flying lessons and loved it, he also liked traveling and scheduled his vacations so all his children would go camping every summer. Dad was also compassionate with other campers and rescued many families that stayed in our tent to wait out a flooding storm. He was courageous in our eyes. Dad was an active fellow. He skied in the water and on the snow and taught his children the same.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Gordon Jackson Brown and Winifred Gertrude Smith, his wife of 61 years Nancy Joan South and his son Joseph Samuel Brown.
He is survived in death by his brother Homer Brown, his children: Susan Victoria Jolley, Robert Allen Brown, Karen Brown Eyre, Lori Lee Bagnara, Gary Lindsey Brown, Gordon Jack Brown III, fourteen grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
He was a High Priest of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Dad’s laugh was priceless and we will always cherish the memories of our vacations and our one on one visits with him. He was an exceptional individual and God blessed us with his presence. He will be missed by all who came in touch with him.
Private family graveside service will be held on Monday, July 20th at 11 am at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park & Mortuary located at 3401 South Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, UT 84106.
