Joanne R. Douglas

Joanne R. Douglas, age 85, passed away October 11, 2023 in Benjamin, Utah surrounded by her loving family and is now free from the afflictions of dementia, which she battled for the last years of her life. She was born May 5, 1938 in Murray, Utah to Carl Ingeman Andersen and Josie Strange Andersen. She married John Miles Douglas, later divorced.

Joanne loved to travel. She was an excellent seamstress who made beautiful needle point and crocheted projects. She was an Executive Assistant for many decades and the Google of her day.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Tracy (Jay) Wilson; adored by her grandchildren: Megan (Brett) Warren, Cameron (Cassie) Wilson, Whitney (Scott) Burrows, John Chase (Brylie) Douglas, Slater Douglas; 13 grandchildren: Owen Warren, Wilson Warren, Conner Warren, Finnley Warren, EvaJo Warren, Landon Wilson, Dex Wilson, Milo Wilson, Parker Wilson, Mae Wilson, Carter Burrows, Beckham Burrows and Jace Burrows, all of which brightened her life and lovingly called her “Grandma Tinker Toy.” She was preceded in death by her daughter, Julie Douglas; parents, Carl Ingeman Andersen & Josie Strange Andersen and her sister Ellen LaVon Cole.

Her graduation service and send off onto her next adventure is Sunday, October 29, 2023, 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, 12070 S. Laurel Chase Drive, Riverton, UT 84065.
