Maria Judith Blanco de Gomez, also known to the world as Mama Maria, Mama Gomez, and Grandmalita, was called home from her mission on this earth. She has been given the privilege to work alongside her father in heaven, to be a guide, a beacon of light, an officer of heavenly law, a nurse of all nurses, and a comforter to our earthly pains. Her greatest gift to us all was to inspire her spouse, siblings, children and grandchildren to dream, to love, to serve and to always be selfless in everything we do.
Maria was born in Santa Ana, El Salvador on October 28, 1959. She was the daughter of Jose David Blanco Vidal and Tereza Hayde Hernandez de Blanco, and was the second of 9 children. She married her first and only Love, Victorino Atilio Gomez in 1980 and was ultimately blessed with 5 beautiful children later to be sealed in the Santa Monica LDS Temple in 1990. Education was an emphasis of her natural innate hunger for knowledge; she graduated with honors in Management Travel and Tourism in 1987, and became an entrepreneur of many god given talents and skills that she has developed throughout her life she was the CEO of the family business which she helped run alongside her eternal partner Atilio. Maria embodied the greatest principles of Christ during her lifetime, as she was known to feed the hungry and clothe the naked, loved her children and grandchildren, and did unto others as she would have them do unto her. Her legacy lives on in the hundreds of neighborhood children that she helped raise, who still to this day call her "Mom". Maria lived life to its fullest. She brought light to the darkness and happiness to everyone she met. Maria's love was unconditional, and she in return was loved by all. She is the Beacon of Light to our family and has held us together through life's greatest trials.
