Mark graduated from Pleasant Grove High School and served a mission in the Pittsburg, Pennsylvania area for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He married his devoted wife of 38 years, Kemberly Ann Munn on February 6, 1981. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan Temple on August 21, 1982 and they were blessed with 3 precious children.

Mark loved fishing, traveling, off-roading, camping, kayaking, and spending time with his family. When the sports seasons rolled around he enjoyed watching BYU football and basketball with his son, Ethan.
