

On January 12, 2018 after a courageous fight with cancer our beloved husband, father, PaBear, brother, uncle and friend peacefully returned home to his Heavenly Father and loved ones waiting there. Max was born on Aug. 20, 1934 in Bingham Canyon, Utah. He married M. Fay Lauritzen on Sept. 16, 1965. They were sealed eternally in the Salt Lake Temple on Sept. 16, 1981.
Max served 4 yrs. in the US Air Force. He graduated from USU where he played baseball. He was also an outstanding bowler. He spent his life teaching and working with troubled youth and touched many lives. He was an amazing gardener and loved to share the bounty.
Max was a strong man and always took good care of his family. He loved them all and took great joy in them and their accomplishments. He loved people and made friends wherever he went. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and showed it by being a true Christian.
Max is survived by his wife, Fay; 2 children, Lauri (Lowell) Smith and Daniel Max (Andrea); 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren with another on the way; Brother, George (Marti) Sluga and beloved cousins Darlene (Earl) Nelson and Colleen Nichols.
Viewing will be held Wed. Jan 17th from 6-8 pm at the LDS meetinghouse at 12691 S. 3600 W. Riverton, Utah. Visitation will also be held from 10-10:45 prior to the funeral which will begin at 11 am at the same location. Interment will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial, South Valley in Riverton, Utah.
