I worked at Autoliv with Tom for 28 years, our paths crossed many times, but we truly never got to know one another until he hired me to work for him. It was right after he had received a promotion and I was hired not only to work for him but to replace him. It was like trying to replace a legend, Tom had the utmost respect of all the people that reported to him. The warehouse operated like a well-oiled machine because of his leadership.
 Over the years of working at Autoliv I knew Tom to be a good boss that always worked well with his team, what I did not realize was how smart and dedicated he was. I asked the logistic team about the tool they used to schedule all the different trucks, their depart and arrival times between all the different cross docks, in the US and in Mexico. The team told me Tom bought himself a book on how to use Excel, locked himself in his office and did not come out until he had a tool that could be used to make their jobs easier and more efficient.
 Even though I worked for Tom, he had a way of making me feel we were working together as a team. I know he had this effect on the others that reported to him, that is one of the reasons he was such an effective boss.
 Tom would stop at the warehouse at the end of the day to check up on things, share his knowledge with me and offer any advice I needed. As time went on, his stops became more of a let’s talk about life than just about the warehouse. I made the mistake one night of asking him about his Ham radio and we didn’t leave that night until after 7:00 pm. Most nights we talked the highs and lows that came with being a husband and a father and how much our families meant to us. 
Tom’s word was impeccable, and my life is better for having had the opportunity to work for and with Tom. 
My deepest heartfelt condolences go out to his family, I know he loved you very much.

I worked for Tom on and off for 25+ years at Autoliv. He always seemed push me to improve. He will be remembered as one of the best bosses in my career. We had a connection I won’t forget. Tom humor was always welcome. Glad I got to cross paths. 

I am so sad to hear of Tommy's passing . We grew up a block apart from each other . Blonde hair smart kid. I remember going to his sister's wedding at their house . We had such fun back then . Played our hearts out. Rode bikes .Ran thru the sprinklers .  It looks like he is the father of beautiful kids . Tommy rest in peace . You deserve it .

Tom and I worked together, off and on, for close to thirty years.  We trusted each other, relied on each other, laughed and cried together. As genuine a man as one could have the pleasure to share time with. 
Tom kept me on the rails within the boundaries of my moral compass, always able to speak volumes with just a sideways look of his eyes. The world was a better place for his presence. Loved him tons.

To the family of Tom,
I’m very sorry to hear of Tom’s passing. We met and became friends in the 1st grade at Lorin Farr Elementary. We lost touch somewhere in High School, but reconnected at Autoliv in 1994 or so. We always reminisced about the old days when we ran into each other.
We retired at about the same time and even joked about living to enjoy it. I’m very sorry for your loss, he was a very genuine man.
