Mr Jenkins was born on February 8, 1927 in Martin County son of the late William Andrews Jenkins and Sarah Grimes Jenkins. He was a general contractor for many years and a member of the Robersonville United Methodist Church. He also was a United States Navy Veteran of World War II.
In 1951 he married Kathleen Gurganus who preceded him in death on February 4, 2001.
He is survived by his daughter Jane Haislip and her husband Jackie of Robersonville and a granddaughter Jana Haislip of Robersonville.
The family will receive friends at the residence 403 Grimes Street Robersonville.
Memorials may be made to the Humane Society in Williamston or the Robersonville United Methodist Church.
