Christa Irene Hart

Memorial services will take place on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 777 25th Avenue, East Moline. The family will receive guests beginning at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the church. Inurnment will take place at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the church or to Friendship Manor. Hodgson Funeral Home, Rock Island, is assisting the family.

Christa Irene was born on March 18, 1966 in Moline, a daughter of Terry I. and Carolyn A. (Hennessey) Hart. She was a graduate of United Township High School’s Class of 1984, and was active in sports, playing volleyball, basketball, and softball. Christa had worked at Davidson Jewelers, East Moline. She loved taking care of her favorite pet, basset hound, Dukas Beauregard of Arrow, and was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church, East Moline.

Christa’s life took an unexpected turn due to a car accident in 1984, which left her partially paralyzed and unable to care for herself. However, through her strength of will she was able to continue for many years, and this strength revealed to her family blessings they never thought possible, and continue to appreciate and be grateful for to this day.

Those left to honor her memory include her mother & stepfather, Carolyn and Mark Ehlers, Davenport; siblings, Tony Hart, San Francisco, CA; Todd (Tammy) Hart, Becker, MN, Candy (Eric) Hart-Echols, Davenport; stepbrother, Mark Ehlers, Las Vegas, NV; brother-in-law, Greg Holman, Onalaska, WI; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, and devoted friend Jill Tharp, Coal Valley.

Ms. Hart was preceded in death by her father, Terry, and a sister, Cindy Holman.

The family wishes to thank the Silver Cross staff for the many years of care, the staff of A.R.C. of Rock Island County, and the speech pathology department at Augustana College for their contributions to improving Christa’s quality of life over the years.
