Dorothy O. Horton

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 7, at Hodgson Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline.

Dorothy was born on April 3, 1911 in Alamosa, CO, the daughter of Jake and Amelia (Miller) Wolverton. She married Louis Horton in June of 1932 in Rock Island. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. Horton worked for the Rock Island Lines laundry service for almost 20 years, and went on to work in the laundry service at St. Anthony’s in Rock Island. She had a long life of helping people, and loved her family very much.

Survivors include her daughter, Rose Spaulding, Rock Island; grandsons, Joe, Dan, and John Spaulding, Rock Island; great-granddaughter, Heather Weeks; and a number of special friends from Heartland Towers in Silvis and Friendship Manor in Rock Island.

In addition to her husband, her parents, sisters, Gladys Justus and Irene Ludin, and brother, Bill Wolverton, preceded Mrs. Horton in death.
