John Everett Barker

John Everett Barker,84, of Rock Island passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at St. Anthony Continuing Care and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 22, 2014 10:00 a.m. at Hodgson Funeral Home. Visitation will be 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. He was born August 27, 1929 in Sikeston, Missouri the son of James and Lela (Myers) Barker. He was united in marriage to Cecelia Juarez on September 3, 1966 in Davenport, Iowa.

He was employed at International Harvester for 31 ½ years, retiring in 1981. He was a member of St. Pius Catholic Church. His memberships also included: R.I. Elks #980, East End Club of Moline and Moline Eagles.

John enjoyed traveling, his many dogs and entertaining at his home.

His is survived by his wife Cecelia and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
