Terry Wayne Davis

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 23, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Hodgson Funeral Home, 608 20th Street, Rock Island. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday at Greater Antioch Baptist Church, 929 14th Street, Rock Island. Interment will follow at Chippiannock Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family.

Terry was born July 3, 1961 in Louisville, MS, the son of Ira Lee and Erma Jean (Porter) Davis. He married Vickie Lucas.

He enjoyed watching western classics, spending time with family and friends, and in earlier years, dancing to the music of James Brown with his cousin Brenda when they were both young. Terry dearly loved his immediate and extended family.

Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Erma; wife, Vickie; daughter, Shawntress Guy; stepson, DeAnthony Lucas; grandchildren, Keovontae, Aakimia, and Aviana; sisters, Eloise Teague, Elvis and Patricia Davis; brothers, Earnest, and Quincy (Tonya) Davis; brother-in-law, Darryl Smith; nieces, Tameka and Hailey Payney, Tekara Davis, Amiyah Smith, Kenzie Davis, and Aariyah Davis Spoljoric; nephews, Antwon Davis, Donterryus Adams, Earnest Jr., Darryl Smith, Jr., Myles, Deidrick and Kayden Davis, and Tyrell and Tremaine Teague; special uncle, Eugene Sherrod; uncles, Rev. Charlie Davis, Billy and Willie Sherrod; aunts Daisy Landingham, Earline Swanigan, Sarah Branch, Jettie Mae Victor, Rosie Lee Davis, Ester Coleman, and Clara Roberson; a host of cousins; and his life-long friends, Willie Gene Richardson, Louis Miles, Carlis Lucas, and Lester Lewis.

Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his father, paternal grandparents, Moses and Lacy Bea Sherrod and Henry Davis, maternal grandparents, Ezell and Alice Porter, and uncle, Henry Louis Davis.
