Allen R. Ehrlich was born in Dayton, OH, in 1942 and raised in Port Washington, NY, on Long Island. He married the love of his life, Phyllis, in 1967 (they were happily married for 54 years) and together they had three cherished children – Ginny, Wendy and Danny – who they raised in Coram, NY.
Allen graduated the City College of New York (CCNY) with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and spent 35 years working on many critical Department of Defense programs. He was also a skilled craftsman who took great pride in his home remodeling, repairs and continuous improvements.
Allen had a great sense of humor, which will be dearly missed. His favorite place was at the head of the dinner table where he would hold court, telling stories and jokes, while feeding his grand-dogs under the table.
In his free time, he was a history buff who loved reading, watching his favorite science fiction television shows and movies, and was also a collector of old comic books.
In addition to his wife and three children, Allen is survived by his son-in-law Glenn, granddaughter Maddie, brother Bob, sister Lucy, several nephews and nieces and cousins.
Allen was loved tremendously by his family and friends and will be missed more than words can express.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.FloridaMemorialFH-Gardens.com for the Ehrlich family.
