Andrew J. Kalton (Andy), 87, of Melbourne, fell asleep in our Lord, with family by his side on Monday, March 18, 2013. Born September 29, 1925 in Somerville, MA, he joined the Naval Air Corp to serve our country during WWII in the Pacific and again in the Korean War. He met and married his wife, Pauline at the Greek Orthodox Church in Somerville, MA. Andrew was employed to 15 years as Vice President of International Affairs for Gibson Greeting Cards in Cincinnati, OH. He was a faithful member of St. Katherine’s Greek Orthodox Church in Melbourne, FL and an enthusiastic member of the Ahepa Fraternity (American Hellenic Education Progressive Association). He loved to play golf before his health declined and was an avid bridge player until recently, and a die-hard Boston Red Sox fan. He was a happy person who liked to tell funny stories and sing funny songs. He enjoyed going to the arcade with his wife, daughter, Christina, and her husband, Jerry, and also Diana and Pam. Andrew is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Pauline; three daughters, Pamela (Roy) Diecidue, Diana (James) Papageorge and Christina (Gerald) Borges; sister, Mary (George) Sarandis; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three siblings, Helen (Charles) Pappas, Joyce (Chris) Karimbakas, and Harry (Dorothy) Kalton. Andrew will be forever remembered as a gentle giant who always went out of his way for others. His tender heart, his hearty laugh, and his bear hugs will be forever missed. Thank you to Hospice of Health First for the loving and tender care they provided. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Health First, 1350 South Hickory St., Melbourne, FL 32901 or to St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church Building Fund, 5965 N. The funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at St. Panteleimon Chapel, and will be followed by a graveside service at Florida Memorial Gardens.
