

During World War II she served in the U.S. Navy Hospital Corps. After the war she married her high school sweetheart William Fagan, and they enjoyed a long and happy marriage. Most of their married life was spent in Miami, where she raised their four children and served as PTA president at Hibiscus Elementary School. After her children completed elementary school, she taught school as a special reading teacher for 27 years at St. Lawrence Catholic School. During this period, she accompanied her husband, who served as National President of the American Public Works Association to numerous national and international conventions. They moved to Merritt Island in 1987. Mrs. Fagan was an active member of Divine Mercy Catholic Church, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister.
She was preceded in death by her husband William Fagan, (Lt. U.S.N. Retired and Public Works Director of Coral Gables, FL); her daughter, Nancy Eshleman of Gainesville and her son, Richard Fagan of Merritt Island.
Surviving her are sons Bill Fagan (Edie) of Winter Park, Steve Fagan (Karen) of Cooper City, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. The family wishes to thank Solaris Healthcare in Merritt Island for all the care they gave her.
A family service is planned later in the month with interment at Florida Memorial Gardens, Rockledge. Memorial donations may be made to Divine Mercy Catholic Church, Merritt Island.
