

A former resident of Englewood, NJ, Mr. Brockie attended the Englewood School for Boys and was a graduate of Phillips Academy in Andover, MA. Upon graduation from Yale University in 1951, he was commissioned a Lieutenant in the United States Air Force and saw action in the Korean War as a Douglas A-26 attack bomber pilot.
In 1956, he began his career with Bankers Trust Company in New York as a financial analyst. He moved on to Allied Chemical and Dye Company, which subsequently became Allied-Signal Corp. headquarters in Morristown, NJ. During his 30 year career with that company he was active in the pension and financial areas and retired in 1989 as the corporations Vice President of Investor Relations.
While a resident of Englewood, Mr. Brockie was appointed to the city's Financial Advisory Committee in 1966 and was elected a trustee of the Englewood Hospital in 1967. He served as Vestryman at St. Paul's Episcopal Church from 1965-1967 and during that time headed it's Christian Education Committee. He was a member of the Englewood Field Club and served as its President in 1970-71 as his father Edward S. Brockie had in 1920.
Active in the Yale Alumni Association of Bergen County, Mr. Brockie received the Yale Bowl award in 1991 in appreciation of his loyalty and service to the university.
During his long retirement, Mr. Brockie was able to enjoy his children and grandchildren, as well as tennis, golf, horseback riding, and gardening. He remained active in community affairs, and he and his wife Linda traveled extensively here and abroad.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Linda, and three daughters from a previous marriage, Katherine B. Hurley, Anne B. Fields, and Sarah B. Bishop, and 7 grandchildren.
